Here, we chronicle the lame man at the Pool of Bethesda in John 5 who had lain helpless for 38 years, hoping for an angel-stirred healing. Jesus sees the man, asks if he wants to be made whole, and instantly commands him to “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk,” healing him completely on the Sabbath, which prompts the Pharisees to rebuke the man for carrying his mat, while ignoring the miracle. Christ later finds the healed man in the temple and tells him to “sin no more,” and regard his new health and wholeness by God’s mercy as an opportunity to make a break with sin and begin a new life of obedience to God. But that is not the instruction for how we are saved in today’s age of grace, where faith alone in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection instantly saves sinners from eternal judgment in hell, making them wholly alive in Him.

This episode examines the Apostle Paul’s triumphant declaration in 2 Timothy 4:6-8 that he was ready to be poured out as a drink offering, his departure at hand; he had fought the good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith, knowing a crown of righteousness awaited him at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Paul viewed his life as a soldier’s battle, an athlete’s race, and a farmer’s stewardship—never quitting despite persecution, completing the ministry given him, and guarding the truth revealed to him for this dispensation of grace. The message closes with a challenge to believers to finish their own course with the same passion, so they, too, will have no regrets when standing before the Lord.

In this episode, we discuss the Apostle Paul’s three vocational metaphors in 2 Timothy 2:3-13 for faithful Christian service and ministry: endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ, strive lawfully as an athlete in competition, and labor diligently as a husbandman/farmer. Paul applies these to the Judgment Seat of Christ, where suffering for “my gospel” (Christ’s death and resurrection according to the revelation of the mystery) yields eternal glory and reigning with Him, while unfaithfulness brings loss of reward. Every believer in Christ will live with Him in heaven, but it’s up to each individual believer in their stand for Christ whether they will live with Him in a higher reigning position.

This episode covers Colossians 3:22-25 (and 4:1), instructing employees (“servants”) to obey bosses (“masters”) in everything—not with eyeservice as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart fearing God—knowing they will receive the “reward of the inheritance” at the Judgment Seat of Christ for such labor, while those who do wrong will suffer loss. And bosses must treat their workers justly and equitably, knowing they, too, will answer to their heavenly Master. The teaching emphasizes that work is God’s pre-fall idea, manifests godliness, and carries eternal significance when done heartily for Christ’s glory, regardless of the profession, turning ordinary labor into worship and ministry that will yield eternal reward.

Here, the Apostle Paul, drawing from the familiar Isthmian Games near Corinth, challenges believers in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 to run the Christian race with the same intense determination, self-discipline, and purpose as the athletes: “So run, that ye may obtain,” being temperate in all things and keeping the body under subjection so that, after preaching the gospel to others, one is not disqualified from reward. The race is not about losing one’s salvation (which is secure by grace through faith) but about winning an incorruptible crown and eternal rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ—thus believers must run with patience, laying aside every weight and sin while looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

This episode highlights 1 Corinthians 3:8-15 to show believers as co-laborers with God in His Church—both as His “husbandry” (field planted and watered by Paul and Apollos) and His “building” (with Paul as the wise master builder who laid the sole foundation of Jesus Christ). Believers must take heed how they build on that foundation, using rewardable materials of gold, silver, and precious stones (faithful, grace-based service that abides the testing fire) rather than wood, hay, and stubble (carnal or mixed works that burn), so that at the Judgment Seat every man’s labor will be revealed, rewarded if it endures, or cause loss if it does not—yet the believer himself will still be saved “yet so as by fire.”

This episode recounts the story from Mark 5 in which Jesus, while hurrying through a crowd to heal Jairus’ dying daughter, is interrupted by an anonymous woman who had suffered a debilitating hemorrhage that left her ceremonially unclean, socially ostracized, and financially bankrupt after years of failed medical treatments. In desperate faith, she secretly touches the hem of His garment from behind and is instantly healed; Jesus commends her faith and sends her away in peace. The account draws a parallel to salvation—just as the woman could not heal herself, sinners are spiritually unclean and bankrupt but are made whole instantly by reaching out to Christ alone in faith and then sent forth to live in His peace.

In this episode, we examine the account from Matthew 17 in which Jesus, while in Galilee, foretells His betrayal, death, and resurrection to the grieving disciples, then arrives in Capernaum where temple tax collectors ask Peter if his Master pays the annual half-shekel tax. Jesus supernaturally knows the conversation, explains that as God’s Son He is exempt (since the temple is “My Father’s house”), yet willingly pays it “lest we offend them” by directing Peter to catch a specific fish whose mouth holds the exact amount for both of them. The miracle underscores Christ’s omniscience and lordship over creation while modeling submission to authorities, a lesson that extends to believers today to avoid damaging our witness for the gospel.

This lesson explains from 1 Corinthians 3 how the Apostle Paul rebuked the church at Corinth for remaining “babes in Christ,” who could still only handle the “milk” of elementary truths rather than the “meat” of deeper doctrine. Here, he contrasts the natural (unsaved) person, the carnal believer, and the spiritual believer, reminding them that only God gives the increase in growth, while human ministers are merely servants who plant and water. The message calls for believers today to keep maturing in Christlikeness through regular intake of Scripture, so that they may glorify God alone, avoid carnal divisions, and fulfill the high calling of pressing toward the prize in Him.

In this episode we discuss Christ’s inevitable Second Coming, which will occur at the end of the Tribulation, to deliver the nation of Israel from the Antichrist, crushing his armies at the Battle of Armageddon and establishing the millennial kingdom on earth—distinct from the earlier pre-tribulational Rapture of the Church. Revelation 19 vividly describes Jesus returning on a white war horse, with eyes like flames of fire, many crowns, a blood-dipped robe, and a sharp sword from His mouth that slays the nations, and later results in the Antichrist and false prophet being cast alive into the lake of fire. The battle culminates in a river of blood, supernatural confusion among the enemy, and total victory for Christ.
