The Apostle Paul prays that believers would grow in spiritual wisdom and have the eyes of their understanding “enlightened” so they can grasp the hope of their heavenly calling. This power is that which also raised Christ from the dead and exalted Him far above all principalities. We further learn in this message that believers are called to live by this resurrection power, relying on God rather than their own strength to endure, serve, and live like Christ. Exalted as Head over all things for the Church, Christ fills and empowers the members of His Body so that His life is manifested through them.

In this study, the Apostle Paul teaches that God has lavished His grace on believers by giving them wisdom and understanding through the revelation of the mystery. This mystery explains God’s purposes for heaven and earth and shows that the Body of Christ has a heavenly inheritance, predestined to share in Christ’s glory. Believers are eternally secure because, after hearing and believing the gospel, they are sealed with the Holy Spirit. Paul rejoices in these blessings and gives thanks for the Ephesians’ faith and love, urging believers to live daily in trust because of their secure position in Christ.

This lesson begins our series in Ephesians with the Apostle Paul reminding believers that they are saints—holy and accepted in Christ. He praises God for blessing believers with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, including being chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world to stand holy and blameless before Him. God also predestined believers to the adoption of sons, granting them full rights and inheritance in Christ according to His good pleasure. Through Christ’s blood, believers have redemption and complete forgiveness, all flowing from the immeasurable riches of God’s grace.

In this episode, we learn that believers in this dispensation of grace have a heavenly inheritance, distinct from Israel’s promised earthly kingdom. Israel’s hope—rooted in prophecy—is to inherit the earth, dwell in the Millennial Kingdom, and reign with Christ from Jerusalem, while the Body of Christ—revealed through the Apostle Paul’s mystery program—has a hope laid up in heaven. Paul teaches that our citizenship, blessings, and eternal dwelling are in the heavenlies, where we will be with Christ, which is “far better” than remaining on earth. Because we are Christ’s ambassadors, this world is not our home.

In this teaching, we discover that rightly understanding the Bible requires rightly dividing it, as commanded in 2 Timothy 2:15, recognizing God’s distinct programs for Israel and for the Body of Christ. Many biblical commands—such as Sabbath-keeping, tithing, and water baptism—were given to Israel and are not directed to the Church today, whose instructions come through Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles. All Scripture is for our learning, but Paul’s epistles contain Christ’s explicit instructions for this dispensation, providing our doctrine, walk, and hope.

The study also stresses obedience to God, trust in His Word, and the importance of rightly dividing Scripture for understanding God's plans for Israel and the Church, the Body of Christ.

While revealing God in His fullness through Jesus Christ, the Bible strengthens, encourages, comforts, and challenges—not only day by day, but year by year and decade after decade—until its words become part of life itself. Here, we examine Psalm 19:7-11, which describes God's Word as perfect, and enduring forever. It converts the soul, makes wise the simple, and rejoices the heart, while protecting and rewarding those who keep it. The lesson also emphasizes rightly dividing the Word, its divine perfection and all-sufficiency, and its power to transform and bring joy as the believer's greatest possession.

This teaching concludes our study of Psalm 119, highlighting the psalmist's profound love for God's Word—reflecting on it all day and finding it as a source of superior wisdom, understanding, and protection amid persecution and affliction. He delights in it as his heritage and rejoicing, resolves to obey it fully, and repeatedly petitions God for deliverance, strength, understanding, and guidance. Deeply loving, meditating on, and living by God's Word, rightly divided, produces a transformed life that honors the Lord.

Continuing our look at Psalm 119, this episode emphasizes the psalmist's heartfelt prayers for God to teach him, give understanding, and help him obey and delight in God's Word with his whole heart amid trials, affliction, and opposition. Also explored are themes of trusting God's faithful, settled, and perfect Word for comfort, strength, hope, and guidance—while rejecting vanity, covetousness, and worldly ways—and finding joy in meditating on and singing it even in dark times. We as grace-age believers are to let the Bible transform our lives, walking in righteousness under grace and pointing others to Christ.
