This lesson shows how the “Son of Man” is the glorified Lord Jesus Christ, as John sees Him on Patmos in Revelation 1—as the eternal High Priest and coming Judge. His appearance reveals divine majesty and authority: head and hair white like wool, eyes like flaming fire, feet like burning brass, voice like many waters, seven stars in His right hand, a sharp two-edged sword (representing the Word of God) from His mouth, and a face shining like the sun. John falls as dead in awe, but Christ comforts him with the words “Fear not; I am the First and the Last…I am alive for evermore…and have the keys of hell and of death,” reminding every believer that the entire book of Revelation is first and foremost the Revelation of Jesus Christ—the victorious King who will judge the world and care for His own through the coming Tribulation.

In this episode, we discover in 2 Kings 2 how Elijah, Elisha, and the sons of the prophets all knew ahead of time about Elijah’s translation in the whirlwind. As Elijah makes his farewell circuit from Gilgal to the Jordan River, Elisha repeatedly refuses to leave his master, the sons of the prophets confirm the news to Elisha alone of Elijah’s imminent departure, and Elijah parts the Jordan with his mantle so that he and Elisha can cross on dry ground. Elisha then asks for—and receives confirmation of—a double portion of Elijah’s spirit; moments later a chariot and horses of fire separate them, and Elijah is caught up alive in a whirlwind while Elisha inherits the mantle and steps into his role as God’s prophet. Believers are to be reminded today that, just as Elijah left earth without dying, we who are alive at the Rapture will also be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

We see in this episode as a devastating Syrian siege brings Samaria to the brink of starvation, driving up food prices. The prophet Elisha boldly prophesies that within 24 hours the famine will end, and food will be sold cheaply in the city gate. God then causes the entire Syrian army to hear the terrifying noise of chariots, horses, and a great host approaching, making them flee in panic and abandon their camp; four starving lepers discover the empty tents filled with food and treasure, feast on it, then realize they must share the “good tidings” with the starving city—exactly fulfilling Elisha’s word, as the people plunder the supplies and prices plummet. The lepers are likened to sinners: just as they found unexpected mercy and abundance, we who were dying in sin have discovered deliverance through Christ alone and must not keep that life-saving gospel to ourselves.

We learn in this episode of the king of Syria’s repeated plans for secret border raids against Israel, but Elisha supernaturally overhears even the king’s private bedroom conversations and warns the king of Israel, foiling every attack. Enraged, the Syrian king sends a massive army of horses and chariots by night to capture Elisha, whose servant panics at the sight of the surrounding troops, but Elisha calmly assures him, then prays for the young man’s eyes to be opened—revealing the mountains filled with far greater heavenly horses and chariots of fire encircling and protecting them. Elisha then prays for the Syrian army to be struck blind, leads the sightless soldiers into Samaria, restores their vision, and—showing mercy instead of retaliation—instructs the king of Israel to feed them a banquet and send them home unharmed; the result is that the Syrian raids cease, as Elisha “killed” Israel’s enemies with kindness.

In this lesson on Colossians 2:8-10, believers are warned to beware of being carried away captive by empty philosophies, human traditions, and the basic “rudiments of the world” that diminish or lead away from Christ. In contrast, the Apostle Paul declares that in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, making believers complete in Him—providing full salvation, righteousness, and spiritual sufficiency through faith alone, with nothing more to add. This message reminds us of Christ’s all-sufficient deity and finished work, urging us to stay rooted in Him as our only hope and portion for eternity.

This episode explains what a Berean is from Acts 17:10-12, illustrating how many in the Church blindly follow wrong spiritual guidance. A true Berean is defined by three “R’s”: first, one who RECEIVES the Word with all readiness of mind; second, one who RESEARCHES the Scriptures daily to verify whether the things taught are so; and third, one who RESPONDS by believing the gospel and living it out in daily life. The noble Bereans modeled personal, diligent Bible study and discernment, an example for believers today not to follow leaders blindly but to test everything against God’s Word.

In this episode, we examine Luke 5:1-11, which illustrates moving “from shallow to deep water faith.” After teaching the crowd from Peter’s boat on the Sea of Galilee, Jesus instructed the unsuccessful and exhausted fishermen to launch out into the deep and let down their nets in broad daylight—the very opposite of their professional expertise—resulting in a record-breaking haul. Jesus then called Peter, Andrew, James, and John to become “fishers of men.” The account pictures Christ drawing believers from a shallow, half-hearted commitment into a deeper, wholehearted devotion and dependence on Him, while reminding us as members of the Church to set our affection on things above.

There is a rescue from sin and the lake of fire available for all through the Cross of Christ, but many don’t know how desperate their situation is spiritually, and they refuse the gospel. Knowing this drove the Apostle Paul all over the world to share the gospel of the grace of God, often leading to revival in places like Thessalonica. This lesson from Acts 17:1-9 recounts Paul’s ministry there on his second apostolic journey, where he reasoned in the synagogue that Jesus is the Christ. While many believed, there was also opposition that forced Paul and his companions to escape by night to Berea. This account shows how the gospel divides people and calls believers to look for Christ’s return amid persecution.

This lesson from Acts 14:8-20 recounts the Apostle Paul and Barnabas preaching the gospel in Lystra, where Paul heals a man lame from birth who had faith to be healed. The amazed crowd mistakes them for gods, but Paul and Barnabas firmly deny being deities and declare they are only men, while urging people to turn from idols to the one true and living God. Unbelieving Jews from Antioch and Iconium, however, then incite a riot, during which Paul is stoned, dragged out of the city, and left for dead. After miraculously rising, the apostle re-enters Lystra and the next day continues to Derbe—showing Paul’s fearless example of fortitude for the gospel.

This episode chronicles Acts 14:1-7, how the Apostle Paul and Barnabas, after being expelled from Antioch, boldly preached the gospel of grace in the synagogue at Iconium, resulting in a powerful revival where both Jews and Greeks believed. Unbelieving Jews, however, poisoned minds against the believers and created division in the city—yet Paul and Barnabas remained steadfast, testifying to the Word of His grace, while performing signs and wonders. When opposition escalated into a mob, they fled to Lystra and Derbe and continued preaching the gospel, modeling courageous, Christ-driven love, even amid division and persecution.
