Scripture states the creation of the heavenly bodies as simple for God. This teaches us that God most definitely has the power to save you from all your sins and give you eternal life. And it also reminds us of where we need to turn for spiritual strength. This study expounds on Psalm 19:1-6 as David’s song of praise— where the heavens and firmament serve as God’s “wordless book”—declaring His glory through vastness, order, and beauty, and reaching every person on earth universally without language barriers. Creation provides general revelation of God’s existence and power and calls us to worship the Creator, downsize our self-estimation, and live for His glory in all we do.

In Psalm 29, King David poetically describes a strong thunderstorm as it swept down over Israel—as “the voice of the LORD”—inspiring David to praise Him for His power and glory. In this episode, we see the psalmist going on to describe this majestic, powerful voice’s impact on the earth. The psalm concludes with the Lord sitting as King forever, giving strength to His people and blessing them with peace—prophetically picturing the Tribulation, Christ’s Second Coming in judgment, and the future millennial kingdom—while symbolically reminding believers today that in the midst of our personal storms, the Lord’s voice in His Word gives us comfort, encouragement, and the peace that passes all understanding.

This message examines Psalm 104 as a majestic song of praise to the Creator who is “very great” and clothed with honor and majesty. The psalm recounts God laying the earth’s unshakable foundations, covering it with the Flood waters that eventually fled at His rebuke and were permanently bounded so they would never again destroy the earth, then sending “the springs into valleys” and watering “the hills from His chambers.” Psalm 104 also describes God’s ongoing providence and care for His creation—reminding us that the same great Creator who sustains all life also provided for our greatest need by sending His Son to die for our sins, so that trusting in Christ’s death and resurrection brings eternal life.
