In this episode, we examine Luke 17:11-19, where 10 religiously and socially defiled lepers cry out to Jesus for mercy as He heads toward Jerusalem and are eventually cleansed—yet only one turns back and gives thanks. Jesus highlights the ingratitude of the other nine and tells the thankful one, “thy faith hath made thee whole.” Leprosy can be seen here as a picture of sin to remind believers that we, too, must cry out for God’s mercy, then continually return to Christ, “giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
