In Ephesians 6:18-20, the Apostle Paul urges the Church to pray always in the Spirit, while supporting one another in the spiritual battle. Paul specifically asks for prayer that “utterance” and boldness would be given him to openly proclaim “the mystery of the gospel,” despite being “an ambassador in bonds”—a prisoner in chains. We also learn in this teaching that believers today are likewise called as ambassadors to clearly and boldly make known this gospel of reconciliation through Christ’s finished work, relying on regular prayer and the power of the Spirit.
