In Christ, we have the hope of eternal life, the hope of the Rapture, the hope of our resurrection, and the hope of reunion with our saved loved ones who have passed away. Thus, because of the certain hope we have in Christ, when we grieve at the death of our loved ones, we grieve with hope. Through passages such as 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, Romans 15:4, and Revelation 14:13, this episode shows that God is the Father of mercies who comforts us in all tribulation so we can comfort others, and that death for the believer is “blessed” rest and “gain,” a doorway to Christ’s presence and future reunion at the Rapture. Thus, while grief is real, painful, and takes time, we can still grieve with the sure, living hope of seeing our saved loved ones again and being forever with the Lord.
