In this lesson, Joseph—now Egypt’s governor—faithfully stores vast grain during seven years of plenty, then opens the storehouses as the global famine strikes, becoming a savior to the world and a picture of Christ, the Bread of Life. When his brothers arrive to buy grain and bow before him, Joseph instantly recognizes them, recalls his fulfilled dreams, but disguises himself, accuses them of spying, and executes a plan to test their hearts. The brothers return home terrified, and Jacob despairs, yet God is already sovereignly paving the road to full reconciliation and proving that He works all things for good.
