Life is full of waiting. The culture we live in is one that doesn’t like to wait— we like instant and fast everything. However, there are many times along our journey through life when God says, “Wait here.” While in prison, Joseph interprets the dreams of Pharaoh’s chief butler and chief baker—who had been jailed for offending the king—and accurately foretells the butler’s restoration to his position but also the baker’s execution. Though the restored butler forgets Joseph, this episode chronicles Joseph’s faithful “prison ministry” of serving others amid his own trials, demonstrating how God cultivates patience, character, and hope in our waiting seasons while sovereignly positioning us for future deliverance.
