God’s Word has instruction about temptation, and Joseph’s example, in this study, teaches us ways we can overcome it in our lives. After rising to a position of great responsibility in Potiphar’s house because the Lord is with him, his master’s wife repeatedly tries to seduce him. Joseph refuses each time, but her advances intensify until she grabs him, and Joseph flees, showing that sometimes the only righteous response to temptation is to run from it. Scripture teaches that temptation is common to all, but God is faithful to provide strength and a way of escape, enabling believers to live lives that honor Him.
