The Apostle Paul teaches, in this episode, that believers can face death with confidence, because God has prepared us for eternal glory and given us the Holy Spirit as the guarantee of our future resurrection. While on this earth, we are “at home in the body,” and physically absent from the Lord—but the moment we die, the opposite instantly takes place, and we become fully conscious in His presence. This hope rests not on feelings but on walking by faith and trusting God’s Word. Life on earth as a believer is good, but being with Christ after death is better, and receiving our glorified bodies at the Rapture is best of all.
